Our work is focused in the urban slums of Healthcare We provide free healthcare to residents of slums. The services we provide include primary & preventive care, neonatal & child health and women’s health. We have partnered with active and retired licensed Physicians, Nurses and other medical professionals who have volunteered to help serve our patients. Health care is provided through mobile medical clinics, health fairs & camps and in the clinics of Physicians who have volunteered with CareWell. Collaborative efforts enable our patients to receive greater comprehensive medical care. If a patient needs specialized care, CareWell has teamed with specialist Physicians who have volunteered to care for patients served by CareWell free-of-charge in their clinics. CareWell provides free medicines to residents of slums who can not afford their medicines. We have partnered with pharmaceutical companies, non governmental organizations and utilize various government programs to procure medicine and pharmaceuticals. CareWell has teamed with various local laboratories and imaging facilities who have volunteered to provide free or discounted services to our patients. We also organize health camps concerning major health issues among slum residents where free medical care is provided. These medical camps also serve as a nodal point for education regarding healthy living and disease prevention among slum residents. Child Education Elementary education is provided to children via partnerships with local private and government schools. Free books and stationery are provided to the needy children. Our belief is that the best way to ensure quality education to children though all stages of their lives is by means of financial empowerment of the head of the family. Our efforts in this regard entail employment generation for residents of slums in partnerships with private corporations, governmental and non governmental organizations. Our vocational educational programs is also a step in the direction of empowering slum residents with financial freedom so as to enable then to provide for their families, especially quality education for their children. We believe that financial independence of the head of a family self perpetuates into better and productive lives for other family members, especially the children of the family. We have also partnered with philanthropic individuals and institutions to provide scholarships to bright students from poor families in slums to pursue higher education. Vocational & Social Education Our vocational and social educations programs are one in a kind for residents of slums. We are a proud partner of vocational educational programs of the government of People Rehabilitation & Employment Generation CareWell has fostered partnerships with private corporations, governmental and non governmental organizations to generate and utilize employment opportunities for residents if slums. Our staffs, social workers and volunteers work with individuals living in slums to assess their skills, talents, training and education. We use a proprietary and complex algorithm to generate an “employment index” for each individual and then match available employment opportunities with the available talent pool in the slums. Slum Rehabilitation We provide sanitation services to slums in the form of covered, private self flushable toilets, safe clean and potable water and community sanitation centers for activities like bathing, washing, cleaning etc. Maintenance and operational agreement is signed with the slum residents for maintenance and operation of the sanitation facilities. Once constructed, the sanitation facilities are self reliant with respect to their upkeep and maintenance. It plays with our belief that community participation is essential in the successful execution of community projects. Urban Migration We also work in the state of Environmental Protection, Awareness and Growth & Pollution Control Slums are a major source of environmental pollution. We continuously educate and create awareness about environment to residents of slums. Education regarding safe environmental practices is reinforced among slum residents on a regular basis. |
