Our Work

Our work is primarily focused on school children from slums and under privileged sections of India .

Vision and Hearing Care

Vision and hearing impairment is widely prevalent in school children from under privileged background. However, with limited resources and limited access to health care, these children often remain undiagnosed and untreated. As a result, they perform poorly academically; and are often withdrawn from schools and to be put into menial jobs to supplement their family’s income. CareWell regularly and frequently organizes Vision and Hearing Camps in schools in slums and poor neighborhoods where children are screened for vision and hearing problems. Free medical and surgical treatment is provided to those in need. Free corrective eye glasses are provided to children with refractory vision errors. We have partnered with Physicians, Nurses and other medical professionals specializing in vision and hearing care. If a child needs specialized care, CareWell has teamed with specialist Physicians to provide such care free-of-charge. CareWell provides free medicines and we have partnered with pharmaceutical companies and utilize various government programs to procure medicines. CareWell has teamed up with local medical laboratories and imaging facilities to provide free services to children.

Teacher & Parent Education

The vision and hearing camps also serve as a nodal point for education of parents and teachers regarding early symptoms of vision and hearing impairment. Healthy living and nutrition information is given to parents and caregivers to enable effective prevention of vision and hearing problems.

Since its inception, CareWell has provided vision and hearing services to more than 15,000 school children; many of whom were able to improve their school grades, finish their school education and become productive members of the society!!
